Knoxville Cold Cases: 17 Knoxville women murdered since 2004

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Knoxville Police Department (KPD) provided information on the unsolved murder cases within the community. KPD has reported 17 unsolved cases for women since 2004.

All investigations are still ongoing, according to KPD.

2021

Janaria Muhammad: The Austin-East Magnet High School student was shot and killed outside of her home on Selma Avenue.

Chaka Sligh: Chaka was shot on E. Fifth Avenue and transferred to UT Medical Center where she later died upon arrival.

Martaysha Flack: The Holston Oaks resident was shot and killed at the apartment complex.

Dewanda Johnson: Dewanda died after surgery from a domestic disturbance.

2020

Markedra Houston: Markedra was found dead in her car, on MLK Jr. Avenue, from gunshot wounds on her legs.

Aseal Iysheh: Aseal found dead in the parking of BJ’s Food Mart, on Magnolia Avenue, from a gunshot wound. Family raised the reward to $50,000 for any information about the suspect in the case.

Katelyn Slivenski: Katelyn was shot and killed on Better Tomorrow Drive.

Sheri Katulich: The New Market resident was shot and killed at a residence in the 200 block of Odd Fellows Street.

2019

Jesse Roberts, 25

Jesse Roberts: Jesse shot and killed at a drive-thru window of Krystal’s restaurant. The gunshot came from The Vibe nearby.

2018

Rekia Kinnebrew: Rekia died from a shooting that happened on Fifth Avenue.

Tamela Moore: Tamela was shot on Speedway Circle then transferred to the UT Medical Center, where she later died at the hospital.

2017

Shanna Harmon, 28

Shanna Harmon: Shanna was found on Chickamauga, on the ground, with a gunshot wound then transferred to UT Medical Center, where she later died.

2014

Regina Keck, 46

Regina Keck: Regina was found dead inside of a home on Alma Avenue from multiple gunshot wounds.

2009

Gina Thacker, 23

Gina Thacker: Gina was found dead in her car on Oak Branch Circle after a shooting.

2007

Jennifer Leeann Law, 24

Jennifer Leeann Law: Jennifer was found burned in an area on Hoitt Avenue near Boone Street.

2005

Debbie Smith (no photo available): Debbie was found dead, from a gunshot wound, in a parking lot at Summit Avenue.

2004

Patricia Eldridge Mays (no photo available): Patricia was found dead with multiple shots on the corner of Nelson Avenue and S. Bell Street.
