Police Searching for Bethesda Credit Card Thieves

BETHESDA, MD – Police are seeking to identify suspects involved in a credit card theft. Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who committed multiple thefts in Bethesda. Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Patrol Investigations Unit have released surveillance video of the suspect.

“On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the suspect entered an office suite in the 4300 block of East West Highway. The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect stole a victim’s credit cards and used them at an Apple store and Safeway,” police said. “On Thursday, April 28, 2022, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a victim reported their wallet missing from an office suite in the 6600 block of Rockledge Drive. The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect stole the victim’s credit cards and then used them at an Apple store.”

Then, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, between 1:30 p.m., and 2:15 p.m., the suspect entered an office suite in the 6900 block of Rockledge Drive and stole the victim’s credit cards. The suspect then used the credit cards at an Apple store.


Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage from all three incidents and determined that the same suspect committed all three thefts.

The suspect is described as a Black male, with dreadlocks or braided hairstyle, with an athletic build.
