Silas Spencer Jr. 72, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Silas was born on December 22, 1949, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Silas and Irene Spencer. Silas was married to his wife of 45 years, Joyce Spencer. He raised his son Shawn Wilde of Tulsa, daughter Tonya Hall of Owasso and two grandsons Shawn Michael Wilde and Tyshon Wilde.

Silas attended school at Pleasant Grove in Seminole and was a graduate of Sequoyah Indian Boarding School and OSU-Okmulgee and worked as a machinist for 33 years at OCV in Tulsa.

Silas loved playing softball, watching his nieces and nephews play sports, watching westerns and loved oldies music.

Silas served in the United States Navy as a Seabee and was proud to serve as a Seminole Nation Honor Color Guard.

Silas is survived by his wife Joyce Spencer of the home; son Shawn Wilde; daughter Tonya Hall; grandsons Shawn Michael Wilde, Tyshon Wilde, Qua’shawn and Duschenne Wilde; brother Edward Spencer; nieces and nephews Charmaine and husband Ronald Scott of Eufaula, Maurice (Bolo) Spencer and wife Ann of Seminole, Sandra Cloud, Charlene Cloud and Belinda Spencer of Seminole and Timothy Cloud of Wewoka.

He is preceded in death by his parents Silas and Irene Spencer; brothers Bill Spencer, Rex Spencer, Leslie Spencer and Bobby Jack Spencer; sisters Nellie Spencer and Ina Mae Cloud.

Wake services will be from 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, July 1, 2022, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Hitchitee Church in Seminole, Oklahoma with burial to follow at Hitchitee Cemetery. Officiating service will be Rex Hailey, reading of the obituary will be Rick Deer and speaking will be Tecumseh Underwood.

Honorary bearers will be Paige White, Christopher Spencer, Maurice (Bolo) Spencer, Ronald Scott, Frank Castoneda, Shawn Wilde and the Seminole Nation Honor Color Guard. Bearers will be Shawn Michael Wilde, Yoney Spencer, Aaron Scott, Trent Lena, Ryan Cloud, Michael Johnston and Tyshon Wilde.
