Hibbing man charged with murder after domestic violence death

A Hibbing man faces a murder charge after the death of his girlfriend. Eric James Jarvis, 46, was arrested early Tuesday morning.
First responders found the woman unresponsive and not breathing at the Meadowview Apartments. The complaint said police responded two times to 911 calls from that apartment, with both the defendant and the victim calling, in the day before.
Initial findings from the medical examiner said she died from blunt head trauma. And the report said with timely medical intervention, her death could have been avoided.
Family of the victim told police the couple had altercations in the past.
