COEUR d'ALENE - The annual Kid's Parade kicked off the Fourth of July weekend Friday in Coeur d'Alene.

Each year the popular children’s parade grows with the number of kiddos and families that participate, organizers said.

Children joined by parents wore colorful outfits while walking, biking and skating down Sherman Avenue on a sunny morning.

About 500 took part in the parade while many watched from the sidewalks.

"We thank all the people that participated and also came out as spectators," a press release said.

The theme for this year’s parade was "Nickelodeon."

The annual parade was sponsored by the Coeur d’Alene Recreation Department with help from the Coeur d’Alene Street Department
