To help celebrate the Rotary Centennial birthday in 2025, former Weatherford Rotary President Nate Downs made a request at a Weatherford City Commission meeting Thursday which will rename a portion of Rader Park after the Rotary Club.

This request was approved by the commission.

The portion of Rader Park now named after Rotary includes the amphitheater, the playground and the concession stand. This portion of the park has now been named Rotary Centennial Plaza.

“In 2013 we partnered with the city to build the amphitheater at Rader Park. In 2018 we partnered with the city to build the concession stand at Rader Park. Rotary hosts two major events at Rader Park including the Heartland Cruise Car Show and the Rotary Fourth of July Celebration,” Downs said.
