EUGENE — Evan Corbin drove in four runs and Tristan Ledbetter earned his first pitching victory as the Roseburg Clint Newell Dr. Stewart’s handled the Boys of Summer 12-3 on Thursday in the Papa’s Pizza Tournament at Swede Johnson Stadium.

Roseburg (13-6) improved to 3-0 in the tourney and will next square off with the Post 6 Barbers on Friday at 11 a.m. from Hamlin Middle School in Springfield.

Ledbetter limited the damage of 11 hits by Boys of Summer. The Douglas High School product stranded 10 runners on base, six of which were left in scoring position.

Ledbetter finished with four strikeouts and one walk over 5 2/3 innings and improved his record to 1-2 on the season. Blake Withers closed the game for Roseburg, allowing one hit over the final 1 1/3 innings.

Meanwhile, the Docs offense supported the pitching staff with runs early and often.

Kade Johnson led off the game with a double and scored on the next pitch when Sebastian Watson singled to centerfield. Roseburg scored two more runs on two errors to pull ahead 3-0 in the first.

Three more errors plagued Boys of Summer in the third inning as the Docs jumped out to a 6-0 advantage.

Corbin had the first of three his three hits in the fourth inning when he drove in Jace Johnson to give Roseburg a 7-1 lead and the rising senior at Roseburg High School also had a triple in the seventh inning to plate two more runs.

Logan Blank was 3-for-4 for Boys of Summer. He drove in the first run of the game for the travel ball club out of Redmond, Washington. Alex Henderson added two hits, including an RBI double in the fourth.
