Butterbean wants to scrap with Mike Tyson.

Butterbean — real name Eric Scott Esch — was one of the most well-known boxers in the world during his prime.

He holds a 77-10-4 record, but hasn’t competed since 2013 when he was TKO’d by Kirk Lawson.

However, at the age of 55, Butterbean is now ready to return to the ring and is targeting a bout with Tyson next.

Tyson notably returned to the ring in 2020 when he boxed Roy Jones Jr. to a draw in an exhibition match. Butterbean even revealed he was approached to be Tyson’s opponent initially.

However, he was depressed and not in the right state of mind at the time. But having lost weight since, Butterbean is now fully ready to face Tyson.

“I was in that dark place. There was no way it was possible,” Butterbean told The Sun. “I’m alive right now, I’m good to go. And Mike is in great shape, it would be a hell of a fight.

“We’d both come to fight, Mike ain’t going to run from me. That’s where his big mistake would be.”

Butterbean Wants Jake Paul As Well

Tyson is not the only one Butterbean wants to face.

He’s also interested in facing YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, who he believes is running his mouth too much.

With that said, Tyson is still the priority.

“Jake Paul runs his mouth too much, he’s never fought nobody, I would love to fight him,” Butterbean added. “But I think people would like to see me and Tyson go at it, which would be a hell of a draw.

“Me and Tyson are actually friends but I don’t mind fighting friends.”

Paul is currently without an opponent given Tommy Fury’s travel issues. Perhaps Butterbean could be an alternative?
