(KUTV) - In breaking news on Friday afternoon, hree-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves, leaving a 7' 1" on the Utah Jazz roster. Adrian Wojnaroski from ESPN was the first to report the news.
The Utah Jazz are getting Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Bolmaro and four first-round picks for Gobert, bringing the total to six total future first round draft picks acquired in twenty-four hours time.
Gobert was selected as the 27th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets and traded that night to Utah.
The 7 ' 1" inch center averaged 15.6 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game during the 2021-2022 season.
