Recently, the Westfield Police Department (WPD) School Resource Officers (SROs) hosted the first ever Little Citizens’ Academy for first-grade through fifth-grade children from Westfield. Participants got to know the SROs and learned about being a good citizen. Kids were also visited by WPD’s Criminal Investigation Team, Emergency Service Unit members, Drone Team, and K9 officers. The SROs also conducted a STEM workshop showing the importance of wearing seat belts while in a vehicle. It was a great week, and the SROs are thankful for the opportunity to connect with children in the community.
