ELBA, Ala. (WDHN)—Elba police continue to “target” drug activity within the city.
Over the last week, officers made two arrests in separate cases.
40-year-old “Drexel Simmons” was charged with two counts of “distribution of a
controlled substance”. Simmons posted a 60-thousand dollar bond and was released from
the Coffee County Jail.
In a separate case, 44-year-old “Clisbe Thomas” was arrested on three separate counts of
“distribution of a controlled substance”. He was released on a 90-thousand dollar bond.
Elba police tell WDHN that much violent crime is often fueled by narcotics’. They feel
they’re making a dent in the street drug trade in Western Coffee County.
