Things to do: July 4th weekend, benefit concerts, art walks and First Fridays

Start your 4th of July weekend with another festive First Fridays, a concert benefit for Maury County firefighters, an art walk and more.

July Fourth activities include Columbia's Independence Day Celebration with a dazzling fireworks show Monday evening at Maury County Park, 1018 Maury County Park Dr. Fireworks are set to begin at 9 p.m. The annual Rotary Club of Columbia bike parade will be held at 8:15 a.m. at Riverwalk Park on July 4. And don't miss the Red, White and Blue Car and Truck Show at Maury County Park at 10 a.m.
1. Maury County Fire benefit concert
Show your support for local Maury County firefighters this Saturday with a special benefit concert at Maury County Park, 1018 Maury County Park Drive.
The all-day event will start at 3 p.m. Saturday and run until 11:30 p.m., with the music starting at 6 p.m.
The concert's lineup will feature former Lonestar singer Richie Macdonald, as well as hit songwriters Brandon Kinney, Wynn Varble and Gary Hannon. Other performances include Hayden Coffman, along with a few surprise guests.
Tickets range from $29-$49 and are available at www.MauryCountyFireDepartment.org/benefit.
Proceeds will directly benefit Maury County Fire Department.
2. First Fridays
Kick off the holiday weekend in the best way possible by heading downtown for another fun-filled First Fridays.
Main First Fridays events will run from 5-8 p.m., which include downtown shopping at later hours, music on the square, food trucks and much more.
Read on to this week's live entertainment section for a list of all bands and performances happening, including a night of jazz at Vintage Winery, classic covers at Variety Records and more you can find downtown this Friday.
3. Columbia Art Walk
Columbia continues its support for the local arts this weekend by hosting a two-day art walk along the downtown square.
The art walk will feature works by local artists hung amongst the downtown shops, including some created by Maury County Public Schools and Building Block School for The Arts students.
Stop by the square for First Fridays for a chance to meet some of the featured artists from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
The art walk will continue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
4. Hohenwald 4th annual Summer Concert
Take a short drive out to Hohenwald this weekend for a night of laughs, music, good food and more.
The city will celebrate its fourth annual Summer Concert featuring The Cleverlys, a unique bluegrass comedy/music "faux family band." The national touring group has been featured at some of the nation's largest festivals, including Stagecoach, Telluride, CMA Music Fest and also The Grand Ole Opry.
The free concert event, which starts at 5 p.m. Saturday, will also have more than 10 food trucks onsite, as well as waterslides, inflatable bounce houses and other fun activities.
The Summer Concert will take place at the Hohenwald city parking lot located at 36 North Maple
5. Live entertainment
Classic Vinyl will perform at Variety Records on the downtown Columbia square starting at 6 p.m. Friday.
Stephanie Adlington will perform at Vintage Winery, 616 N. Main St., starting at 5 p.m. Friday.
Mario Valoz will later perform at Vintage Winery starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Cord Martin will close out Vintage Winery's Friday Night Jazz Session starting at 7 p.m. Friday.
Frizzy will perform at Twisted Copper Brewing Company, 121 S. Main St. in Mt. Pleasant, starting at 6 p.m. Saturday.
