Pueblo West Fire Department cancels 4th of July Fireworks due to supply chain issues

MGN

PUEBLO WEST, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Pueblo West Fire Department (PWFD) has been putting on a fireworks show for the Fourth of July since the early nineties.

This year, the show has been canceled.

The fireworks the PWFD typically obtains are professional grade. They say that due to a supply chain issue and their normal vendor having issues with their ATF license, the show won't happen this year.

The PWFD says this is a national issue. Phoenix, Arizona has canceled three shows due to similar issues.

They say that many firefighters regularly work the holiday to make sure the show happens and that they love putting it on. The department hopes it will be back next year.
