Funeral Services for Nicholas Osterhoudt, age 20
July 11, 2001 - June 20, 2022

Nicholas G. “Nick” Osterhoudt, 20, of Grand Island, NE, died Monday, June 20, 2022, at his home in Grand Island, NE. Services will be held Wednesday July 6, 2022 @ 12:00 pm at  Curran Funeral Chapel, 3005 S Locust St.  Grand Island, NE.  Memorials are suggested to the family with designation at a later date. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. 

Nick was born July 11, 2001, in Broken Bow, NE. He was the son of Stanley R. and Darlene E (Dockhorn) Osterhoudt. Nick grew up in Broken Bow, attending Broken Bow Public School until moving to Grand island in 2017. He attended GISH and was involved in the Career Pathway Institute, where he was a team member helping construct two CPI homes. He was introduced to woodworking during this time, where he designed and constructed his own entertainment center. In his off time, he worked for Runza. Nick’s philosophy was “a job worth doing, was job worth doing right”, and it showed in all he did. Nick graduated in 2020. After graduation, Nick worked for Nebraska Deck and Patio in Lincoln, NE, later he climbed towers for Viaero Wireless, just like his brothers. For the past year Nick was working toward his Journeyman License with Pro Tex Central, Inc. The. Pro Tex Central team has adopted Nick as one of their family members, giving him the nickname “Moose”. 

Nick was a fan of Super Sport Cars and motorcycles. Without being asked, he always made himself available to work on his brother’s vehicles. He was a inventor at heart, refurbishing old electrical equipment into functional products. His latest project was his computer tower he constructed for his home office and gaming room. Nick could often be found playing board games or computer games with friends. 

Nick survived by his mother Darlene Dockhorn of Grand Island, NE; his dad Stanley Osterhoudt of Scottsbluff, NE; his brothers Joshua Osterhoudt of Broken Bow, NE, Steven Bryant of Grand Island, NE, Jonathan (Autumn) of Grand Island, NE, Nathan Osterhoudt of Grand Island, NE, Eric Osterhoudt of Scottsbluff, NE and his sisters Sheila Newman of Oshkosh, NE, Savannah (Ricky) Eggers, Diana (Shelby) of San Diego CA,; numerous nieces and nephews. Maternal grandmother Arlene Dockhorn of Grand Island, NE. 

Preceded in death by maternal grandfather Darr Dockhorn I; paternal grandmother Julia Winchester-Russell & brother-in-law Sean Newman
