LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Seward County K9 is in the spotlight after sniffing out over 15 pounds of meth during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.

On Sunday, a deputy with the Seward County Task Force stopped a Chevy Cruze on I-80 southeast of Aurora.

The Seward County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy brought out a K9 after he suspected criminal activity.

The dog indicated that there were drugs inside the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.

The deputy then found multiple packages of meth in the quarter panels of the Chevy.  Over 15 pounds of meth were found inside, according to the sheriff’s office.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance: Angelica Ramos-Torres Villa, 34, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Juan F. Sacramento, 34, of Lemoore, California.

Both were lodged in the York County Detention Center, the sheriff’s office said.
