Fire officials are hoping that an incident at the Home Depot in Williston will serve as a cautionary tale to always call 911 and not the fire department directly in case of an emergency.On Thursday afternoon, the Williston Fire Department responded to the Home Depot on Harvest Lane after employees reported that they had extinguished a small oven fire.The employees said an oven in the receiving area of the store had caught fire, and several boxes stacked on and around the appliance had also caught fire. Firefighters were able to help extinguish any residual flames from the boxes and ventilate the store of smoke. No injuries were reported.Officials stressed the importance of always calling 911 for any medical or fire emergency, as calling the station directly can result in a delay in service and potential harm to the victim.
