Thursday, June 30

  • 10:32 a.m., Five dogs were spotted running with no attendant along 296th Avenue, Ogema. Officers located the dogs and observed one appeared malnourished. The dogs were taken into custody.
  • 10:54 a.m., Vehicle died while on Highway 34, Detroit Lakes. Officers arrived and pushed the vehicle out of the traffic lane into a parking lot. The occupant had a dentist appointment, so officers gave the individual a ride to the dentist.
  • 11:14 a.m., A 39-year-old man left his residence along Lake Street, Frazee, and began yelling and harassing construction crews who were working on the street. The man was angry the construction crews had not let him know that they would be digging up the street.
  • 11:53 a.m., Parent residing on Barbara Avenue, Detroit Lakes, provided officers with a social media picture that showed juveniles were drinking. The officers went to the address they believed the picture was taken, but no one answered the door and there were no lights on inside the residence.
  • 1:29 p.m., A patient at Essentia Health St. Mary's in Detroit Lakes reported she was receiving threats from an ex.
  • 1:41 p.m., Parents reported their 41-year-old son had taken a 2010 Chevy Tahoe from their home on Height of Land Drive, Rochert. The vehicle was located “in a deep mud puddle.”
  • 3:18 p.m., A Decathlon Rockrider mountain bike was stolen from a residence on Lincoln Avenue, Detroit Lakes.
  • 3:42 p.m., Insulation from a construction project along Balsam Avenue reportedly blew into a neighboring yard. The property owner stated he would address the problem with the construction crew.
  • 4:37 p.m., A female construction worker who was working on the Lake Street project in Frazee was being harassed by a 43-year-old man. A foreman twice had to shoo the man away.
  • 7:47 p.m., A 19-year-old man was reported missing from a residence on East Central Street, Detroit Lakes. The man was located and noted to be in custody in Otter Tail County.
  • 11:32 p.m., A black bear walked onto a porch along 336th Avenue, Ogema, stood on its hind legs and banged on a screen door. Rather than graciously invite the visitor in for tea, the resident inside the home pounded on the door and window to scare the bear, which promptly ran off.
  • 11:35 p.m., Frazee female, 16, reported she had been sexually assaulted by a 17-year-old male. The incident is under investigation.
  • 11:53 p.m., Neighbors on Front Street, Detroit Lakes, entered into a verbal dispute regarding property lines. One person had mowed their grass and the other argued the grass clippings had landed on their property.
