Would T.Y. Hilton leave the Colts for the Packers?

Longtime Indianapolis Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton is currently a free agent. The four-time Pro Bowl receiver's contract with Indy expired after the season. While rumors around Hilton and the Colts possibly striking terms on a new deal are flying around, Hilton is also looking at other options. There hasn't been much talk about him joining Green Bay, but the 10-year veteran is still looking to add a Super Bowl to his portfolio. The Packers have the cap room (roughly $17M) and they have the quarterback in future, first-ballot Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers. Could No. 13 find his way to Green Bay?

Green Bay is looking to add all the help it can to help fill the void left by franchise legend Davante Adams and speedster Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Hilton could bring experience to the group, which is part of why they brought in Sammy Watkins earlier this offseason. The team already has Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard catching passes from Rodgers too. They did add three rookies in this year's NFL Draft. But it never hurts to add a veteran with a proven track record if there is even a little bit of room on the roster. The Green Bay offense is looking for big-play potential in it's skill-position players. Hilton has a career mark of 15.4 yards-per-reception, which is very solid. The former FIU alum has five 1,000-yard seasons in his decade-long career in the league, including an impressive 2016 campaign in which he led the league with 1,448 receiving yards. He has accumulated over 630 receptions for close to 9,700 receiving yards and 53 touchdowns.

Again, T.Y. Hilton is still in search of one thing, a Super Bowl ring. The Packers are one of the elite teams in the NFL. They are arguably the most storied franchise in the league. Head coach Matt LaFleur has guided this team to three consecutive 13-win seasons and three NFC North crowns in his first three seasons at the helm. The more experience they can get on their team, the better it will be. Hilton could be a big-play threat on the outside with soft hands like he was for so many years with the Colts. Adding the veteran into the mix would be a great move for Green Bay because it would give them the perfect balance of experience and youth. A one-year deal with the 32-year-old makes a lot of sense here.
