Two in Ft. Madison facing drug, child endangerment charges

FT. MADISON, Iowa (KHQA) —
A man and woman from Fort Madison are facing drug related charges and a child endangerment charge.

Jerry Beames, 54, and Sherri Beames, 38, were arrested on Thursday in the 1700 block of 35th St. in Fort Madison following the execution of a search warrant at the home by the Lee County Narcotics Task Force.

During the search, investigators say they discovered illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia that suggests the routine use of illegal substances. During the investigation, officers reported that a minor child living in the home.
Jerry Beames is facing several charges:
- One count of possessing a controlled substances on a second or subsequent offense, a class D felony
- One count of maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor
- One count of possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor
- One count of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor
Sherri Beames is facing similar charges:
- One count of maintaining a drug house, an aggravated misdemeanor
- One count of possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor
- One count of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor
