Joe Ingles’ wife announces his Bucks deal in hilarious tweet

Joe Ingles’ wife got the scoop.

According to Renae Ingles, the free agent forward will sign a one-year deal with the Bucks. Ingles spent eight seasons with the Jazz following nine years playing overseas.

“BREAKING NEWS: Sources very close to free agent @Joeingles7 can confirm that he has agreed to a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks,” Ingles’ wife tweeted on Thursday. “CEO of the house, Renae Ingles, is thrilled for Joe and their family. Joe himself, is said to be very bucking happy. #nba#nbanews.”

Ingles seemingly confirmed the news, responding to the tweet with an eyeball emoji. The 34-year-old who went undrafted in the 2009 NBA Draft wrote, “Breaking news” and tagged his wife in the post. The deal is reportedly worth $6.5 million.

Ingles tore his ACL in January and spent the rest of this past season rehabbing from the injury. The Australian will add a veteran presence to an already established Giannis Antetokounmpo-run team in Milwaukee. He is a solid shooter beyond the arc, shooting 34.7 percent from three last season for the Jazz, with whom he averaged 7.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 25 minutes a game.

Renae also tweeted a statement to the Jazz, writing, “As CEO I am inclined to further comment on Utah, Salt Lake City, The Jazz, and alllll of the things- friends who are family. What a community. I don’t yet have the words to put together. It will come.” She capped off the heartfelt message with a red heart emoji of her own.

In a separate tweet, Ingles’ wife later wrote, “.. here for any other exclusive news you want me drop… hit me!”
