The Pyramid to permanently close its doors this evening

A popular fitness center in Lehighton will permanently close its doors as of this evening.

The Pyramid, at 230 Ochre St., will end its decadelong stint at 9 o’clock.

Alyssa Spotts posted the following message on The Pyramid’s Facebook page June 2.

“In my nine years of employment at Pyramid, I never thought there would be a time when I would be writing this message. Together, we grew, overcame a pandemic, and developed our own little community. I value each one of you, and I thank you all for welcoming and allowing me to grow alongside of you.

“Although Pyramid’s plans have changed, that doesn’t mean yours have to as well. I encourage you to stay active and continue to grow the friendships you have developed here over the years.

“On behalf of Pyramid, I would like to thank you for your business over the past 10 years. It has been an honor to help you on your fitness and sports journeys.

“It has been a pleasure to serve you and the rest of our community. I hope our paths cross again in the future.”

Information on the closure of the fitness center can be found at https://pyramid.fitness.

According to its website, all personal equipment from locker rooms must be removed at that time.

Anyone who has a paid upfront membership extending past today’s date, or anyone with leftover package credits or class passes, will receive a refund.

Those who are due for a refund will receive an email regarding refund information no later than July 8.

This email will include all information such as amount of refund issued, refund method, and approximate refund expected date.

Gift certificates will be refunded based on certain criteria. Those who believe they qualify may contact alyssa@pyramidsportsperformance.com.

However, gift certificates received from basket raffles and community events will be voided.

After a 10-year run, The Pyramid, at 230 Ochre St., will permanently close its doors at 9 o'clock. TERRY AHNER/TIMES NEWS
