An NBC10 First Alert has been issued for severe thunderstorms expected in parts of the Philadelphia region on Saturday.

Independence Day will be sunny and hot, but there won’t be a lot of humidity making things too unbearable. NBC10 First Alert Meteorologist Steve Sosna has your full forecast.

It's a mixed bag of weather with the threat of storms and rain amid humidity that started July 4th weekend and clear skies and hot weather expected for Sunday and Monday.

Sunday Clears Out After Storms Saturday

We started off the weekend with tropical humidity and the chance for some scattered strong-to-severe thunderstorms on Saturday. Some of the storms had torrential downpours, intense lightning and localized damaging winds.

The threat of severe storms cancelled the U.S. Army Band Pershing’s Own concert and fireworks display at Penn’s Landing set for Saturday night.

On Sunday, humidity levels inched down as the day wore on, with temperatures reaching highs in the upper 80s.

WATCH: Wawa Welcome America ends with fireworks over Philly

The 4th of July on Monday continues to look fantastic. Moderate levels of humidity, but the key is a dry and sunny day. Look for highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s, so stay hydrated. Wawa Welcome Fireworks should be mainly clear and warm with temperatures in the middle 80s.

The Weekend Weather Takeaway

Two out of three days of the holiday weekend should be winners. While Saturday wasn't a complete washout, it was almost disgustingly humid with downpours that could've happened at almost anytime. Sunday and Monday will be much better.
