Aiken County coroner identifies victim killed in hit-and-run
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A hit-and-run crash left one person dead early Thursday in Aiken, according to police.
The crash happened just before 12:52 a.m. in the 800 block of Laurens Street and Beams Road, according to authorities.
Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables identified the victim as Michale A. Jackson, 34.
An Aiken Department of Public Safety officer discovered Jackson’s body.
Jackson will be autopsied Tuesday in Newberry, S.C.
The vehicle that struck the victim is believed to be a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
