Poetry and Pop Up, Venue at the Village, was held at Casey Jones

A Pop-up Poetry and Paint event will be at Casey Jones Village Friday and set for another showing in September.

Johnny Johnson, promoter and producer for Independent TV is excited to bring this event to the Hub City.

"When the pandemic struck, many small businesses went out," Johnson said. "This event allows these small businesses to be seen on a larger scale in front of talent."

Independent TV is a media company that has given a small platform for artists to promote themselves for the past eight years. The company was started in New York and is now being transferred to Jackson.

From Memphis to Nashville and all across West Tennessee, the event Friday offers poetry, painting with a twist, live music and vendors. There is a general admission of $10 and $25 at the door. Complimentary champagne and a painting session is $40.

The next Pop-up experience will "pop-up" sometime in September.
