Drivers lined up to try to score some cheap gas in Littleton on Thursday.
An event by conservative political action group Americans For Prosperity drew people to Simon's Market, where the price for a gallon of fuel was adjusted to $2.38, which was the average price on President Joe Biden's first day in office.
More than 1,000 gallons of gas were sold during the 90-minute event.
"A lot of people who are on fixed incomes or low incomes. Those are the people who are coming out,” Matthew Simon, owner of Simon’s Market, said.
"Sadly, there are no simple answers. And it's, it's, you know, you can't really blame just one person or one body or one group for what we're experiencing right now,” Marc Law, an economics professor at the University of Vermont, said.
Americans for Prosperity said the price difference was paid for by donors around the country.
A similar event was held the previous day in Salem.
