Air passengers could face delays, cancelations
HARRISBURG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. TOM: MILLIONS OF AMERICANS WILL BE TRAVELING FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY, SOME IN THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY WILL BE COMING THROUGH THE GATES AT HARRISBURG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. WE GOT THE SECURITY GATE OVER HERE, AS WELL AS THE AREA WHERE PASSENGERS ARRIVE FROM THEIR FLIGHTS. AS PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRIVING AND DEPARTING THIS WARNING AND AFTERNOON, WE HAVE HEARD HORROR STORIES ABOUT PEOPLE FACING LONG DELAYS, LAYOVERS, EVEN CANCELED CONNECTING FLIGHTS THAT HAVE MADE IT DIFFICULT TO GET WHERE THEY ARE GOING. I TALKED WITH ONE TRAVELER ABOUT THE HECTIC EXPERIENCE. >> DIDN’T REALLY GIVE US A REASON, BUT BY SPEAKING WITH STAFF, AND OTHER FLIGHTS THAT HAD BEEN CANCELED OR RESCHEDULED, IT SEEMS TO BE A PILOT ISSUE. TOM: TSA ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO MAKE SURE YOU GET TO THE AIRPORT VERY EARLY, ENCASE YOU ARE FACING ANY KIND OF DELAYS GETTING IN BECAUSE OF SECURITY, AS WELL AS THE ISSUES YOU MIGHT BE FACING WANTS TO GET TO THE TERMINAL ITSELF. ONE RECOMMENDATION FROM A TRAVELER I SPOKE WITH TOLD ME, SAID PEOPLE NEED TO BE FLEXIBLE.

AAA says the share of people traveling by air over the Fourth of July weekend will be the lowest since 2011.It comes amid issues with air travel and ongoing concerns of cancelations and delays.Some passengers at Harrisburg International Airport told WGAL they have run into trouble getting where they need to go."They didn't really give us a reason, but just by speaking with staff and other flights that have been canceled or rescheduled or whatever, it still seems to be a pilot issue," Nova Littlejohn, of Cumberland County, said.TSA is encouraging passengers to arrive early.One traveler's advice to other passengers was to be flexible.
