Suspect in custody charged with killing 2 police officers, shooting 5 others in eastern Kentucky
A man is now in custody accused of killing two police officers and shooting six other people in Floyd County, Kentucky.
49-year-old Lance Storz was booked into jail early on Friday in Pike County.
The officers that were killed were Deputy William Petry and Captain Ralph Frazier.
This happened in the city of Allen in Floyd County on Thursday night as deputies were trying to serve a domestic violence order.
The sheriff said they came under fire from a rifle, and two officers were initially shot.
The suspect then barricaded himself in the house holding his family hostage.
An arrest citation says that five other people had been shot by the time Storz was arrested.
Four were officers, two of which have died so far with another remaining in critical condition as of this report.
The seventh victim was an emergency management director.
The arrest citation says that a police K-9 dog was also shot and killed.
Storz is expected to be back in court later in July.
He faces multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder and assault on a service animal.
