IA)--An Enid woman was injured Thursday in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 81 near Kingfisher. 75 year-old Paula Eileen Howard was admitted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in critical condition with a head injury. Oklahoma Highway Patrol report officials said the accident happened just after 2:30 Thursday afternoon on U.S. 81 about 2 miles north of Kingfisher. According to the report, Howard, who was wearing her seatbelt, was driving a 2015 Honda Civic north on U.S. 81 when she entered a curve on the highway and went off the road to the left. Her vehicle rolled one and one-half times, coming to rest on its top in the center median. The report lists her condition at the time of the accident as apparently normal and the cause is under investigation.

ID)--There a number of activities planned in celebration of the 4th of July in Enid and Northwest Oklahoma. Local celebrations will be held throughout the weekend and on the Fourth itself. Leonardo’s Hometown Celebration will be held 10:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday. The museum will host its 20th annual Hometown Celebration Saturday morning, but families are welcome to play at Leonardo’s and Adventure Quest for the rest of the day. Tickets can be purchased at the gate. The City of Enid July 4th Celebration5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday. The city of Enid will have its annual Independence Day Holiday Celebration event at Meadowlake Park on Monday. There will be rides, food trucks and paddle boats. Registration for the fishing derby opens at 4:30 a.m. The fishing derby will conclude at 11:30 a.m. There will be a number of activities at the park throughout the day. Enid Symphony Orchestra will begin its performance at 8:30 p.m. and continue playing through the fireworks, which will begin at 9:30 p.m. The fireworks display has been choreographed by Western Enterprises International. The performance is sponsored by Security National Bank of Enid for the fifth year.

*Medford 4th Fest 6:30-10:00 p.m. Monday at the Medford Airport, 1 mile south of Medford on U.S. 81

*Goltry July 4th Celebration will be 6:00-10:00 p.m. Saturday at the Community Building.

IS)--In observance of the Independence Day holiday on Monday City of Enid residents are reminded that the administration offices, Enid Public Transit, Enid Public Library, Enid Animal Welfare, the recycle center and the landfill will be closed. The Meadowlake Golf Course will be open with tee times starting at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m. There will be no yard waste pickup on Monday. Due to the holiday, the city reminds residents to place their green yard waste polycarts out with their blue trash polycarts to be picked up on the same day as the regular trash collection.
