A 30-year-old Centralia man has been arrested for three counts of aggravated battery to a police officer after allegedly fighting police trying to arrest him in a domestic battery case.

Police received a 911 call from a female just after midnight Friday morning who reported she had been struck in the right eye and mouth by her former boyfriend Bryce McCray. The alleged victim was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for treatment of significant facial injuries.

Police located McCray in his vehicle near his home in the 400 block of Cormick Street. He refused to get out and allegedly struck an officer in the arm. McCray, after being warned, was later tazed twice as police tried to remove him from the vehicle. He then allegedly continued to fight before being taken into custody.

One officer was treated at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for a hand injury.

McCray also requested treatment for a medical issue. He was treated and released and taken to the Marion County Jail. McCray was arrested on three counts of aggravated battery to police, aggravated domestic battery, and interference with the reporting of a domestic battery complaint.
