Three Dubuque teenagers died early Friday when the car they were traveling in left the roadway of Iowa Highway 32 and overturned.

DUBUQUE, Iowa — Three Dubuque teenagers died early Friday when the car they were traveling in left the roadway of Iowa Highway 32 and overturned.

According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, the incident occurred about 1:21 a.m. Friday on Northwest Arterial (Iowa Highway 32) near W. 32nd Street in Dubuque.

A 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by William L. Wodrich IV, 18, of Dubuque, was traveling southbound “at a high rate of speed” when Wodrich “lost control” of the vehicle, which left the roadway, “entered the ditch, vaulted and rolled,” according to the crash report.

Wodrich was killed along with two passengers, Kennedy Elizabeth Elskamp, 17, and Chloe Madison Lucas, 17, both of Dubuque.

The victims were transported to the offices of the Iowa State Medical Examiner.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, which was assisted at the scene by the Dubuque Police Department, Dubuque County Sheriff’s office, Dubuque Fire Department and Dubuque County Medical Examiner.
