Otis Culliver

Congratulations to Dr. Otis Dion Culliver, President-Elect of the Southwest District of The Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention.

Culliver, who is the pastor of Selma’s historic Tabernacle Baptist Church - issued this statement to the Selma Sun “I am humbled by the trust bestowed upon me and grateful for the opportunity to lead our district, which includes the black belt region. I also hope to strengthen the relationship between the churches of this district with a strong emphasis on engaging our youth in intentional ways.”

The mission and purpose of the Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention is to reach, involve, and enlist every member of every Missionary Baptist Church in the state of Alabama in the work of Christian Missions and Christian Education, with the lofty goal of unity and cooperation of the Missionary Baptist Church in the promulgation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through general and ministerial education.

Finally, to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), by promoting Home and Foreign Missions and the support of Christian Education.
