LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Hastings Police Department is sending a warning about what appears to be fake warnings going around social media.

The posts include photos of several different men, who they claim are attacking single moms.

One post says two men are going around claiming to be homeless, then suddenly attacking.

It claims that a 33-year-old mother is struggling for her life after they came at her with a knife.

The other post shared by police claims that a third man is in the area asking for food.

It says if you invite him into your home, he’ll check for any men, and then attack you if there aren’t any.

The post claims that one of his victims was also a single mom with life-threatening injuries.

Hastings Police tell us they haven’t received any reports of any of these attacks.

Authorities say these appear to be hoax posts that are trying to scare the public.

If you have any concerns, police urge you to call 911 or their non-emergency number: 402-461-2364.
