Staying wet through the Fourth of July weekend

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Rain chances will be on the high side again today at around 70% as we close out the work week with yet another round of widespread afternoon and evening showers and storms. Highs will be seasonable as most locations top out in the upper 80s and low 90s.

We’ll kick off the holiday weekend with another 70% chance for showers and storms during the PM hours. Make sure to have a backup plan to bring any outdoor plans indoors if needed! We’ll reach the upper 80s before rain and storms arrive and cool us down.

Rain chances will stair-step down to 60% on Sunday. Once again, expect shower and storm activity to be confined to the second half of the day. We’ll take another trip up to the upper 80s.

FOURTH OF JULY FORECAST: The potential for showers and storms will remain in the forecast, but the coverage of them on America’s birthday looks to be more scattered than prior days. This translates to about a 50/50 chance for rain area-wide. We’ll return to the low 90s for highs.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will all feature 50% rain chances as well. Expect to climb into the low 90s for highs all three days. Lows will be slightly milder in the mid 70s.
