MAX commuters delayed Friday while Gresham police investigated early-morning shooting

A shooting in Gresham closed a MAX station Friday morning.

The police investigation of a shooting in Gresham is holding up MAX light-rail service Friday morning. The MAX station near East Burnside and Southeast 162nd Avenue has been temporarily closed for the investigation.

TriMet says riders in the area should expect a delay of up to an hour and that shuttle buses are running between Gateway Transit Center and Clackamas Town Center. Both the Blue Line and the Green Line are affected.

Gresham police responded to a reported shooting at the MAX station at about 5 a.m. One person was injured in the shooting and transported to a nearby hospital, FOX-12 reports.

The police reportedly are searching the surrounding neighborhood for the suspect.
