WYOMING, MICH. (WWJ) -- Police in the Grand Rapids area say they have arrested an attempted carjacker - who just finished up the 6th grade.

Police say an 11-year-old boy and another suspect assaulted a 41-year-old woman in Wyoming around 5:53 a.m. on Thursday while attempting to make off with her Kia Sorrento.

WXMI reports that when officers arrived on the scene, they say they found the 41-year-old woman suffering from a head injury. She was taken to a local hospital where her condition is not yet known.

The boy tried to run off, but was chased down by police and taken into custody.

Police say that the 11-year-old, whose name is being withheld due to age, is not cooperating with officers.

A second suspect is still at large, but police say they don't know their identity.
