VISALIA, Calif. — A woman was brutally attacked by a group of people early Friday morning at a park in Visalia, according to police.

Officers got a call from neighbors about a woman screaming for help at Fairview Park on Conyer Ave. around 2:45 a.m. When they arrived, police said they found a woman who had been stabbed in the neck.
She told police she was attacked by four to six people. Police said she told them one of the attackers hit her with a baseball bat; another stabbed her in the neck. She said they took her small, brown dog during the attack as well.
The woman was taken to a hospital. Police did not release her condition, but said she was stable. The Visalia Police Violent Crimes unit was investigating the attack as attempted murder and robbery.
