The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau has put in a bid to host the 74th annual National Square Dance Convention in 2025.

The Nation Square Dance Convention is the world's largest square dance event that takes place every year at the end of June in different cities.

The convention presents education programs through panels, seminars and workshops. It includes all phases of dancing, exhibitions, a fashion show, special events and shopping opportunities with vendors. Its mission is to provide fun and fellowship to dancers and leaders from around the world.

The National Square Dance Convention began in Riverside, California in 1952 and the Convention Committee met and agreed on plans and guidelines for hosting future annual conventions.

The bidding city is responsible for submitting a proposal to the National Executive Committee 90-days prior to the start of the next National Square Dance Convention.

The bidding city is also responsible for publishing the National Squares Online Magazine that provides dancers and Dance Leaders from around the world with Convention information.
