The Steelers have lost some key building blocks over the past few seasons, but these four players could become the next core players to build this team around.

The Steelers have seen a huge shift in their roster over the past few seasons. Gone are the stalwart franchise players from before and in are a new breed of players. While this roster still has a lot of questions, there are some players that can become the next man up in terms of core players for this team. Here are the four players that the Steelers can rely on as building blocks in the future.

Steelers building block #4

While a new face to this team after getting signed in the offseason, James Daniels provides this team with a lot of things to be excited about. Daniels enjoyed a successful four-year stint with the Bears where he flashed elite play as a guard. While not in that upper tier of linemen yet, Daniels is only around 25 years of age, meaning he should have time to get there.

Daniels is a good run blocker with some strong traits in pass blocking as well. Despite being a completely new face to this team and scheme, Daniels is already viewed as the best lineman of the bunch. Assuming he plays as he did with the Bears, odds are he is far and away the best lineman of the bunch that the Steelers field.

Given the fact that he hasn’t even entered into the prime of his career, there is a chance that Daniels is playing at a high level for this team for the next eight years or so. With this line still needing a lot of work, having a stable presence to be the leader of that group is vital. The offensive line rebuild is underway, but Daniels should be the face of that group for years to come.
