Warm weather with storms are possible this weekend, leading into a Fourth of July that will have hot temperatures and dry weather during the day before leading to another chance of showers overnight. 

According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On Monday, which is the holiday itself, forecasters predict it to be mostly sunny, with a high near 90. The evening should be perfect for fireworks–the chance of showers is not until around 2 a.m.

If you're planning to watch fireworks this weekend along the Ohio River, be aware:  weather service radar in Wilmington showed the emergence of a lot of bugs, including Mayflies, along the river Thursday, a sign of summer.

Mayflies hatch in huge numbers, so large that they are sometimes picked up by the weather radar.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 89 and a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Saturday night, mostly cloudy with a low around 68.
