What will the weather be like on the 4th of July in Cincinnati? On Monday, which is the holiday itself, forecasters predict it to be mostly sunny, with a high near 90. The evening should be perfect for fireworks–the chance of showers is not until around 2 a.m.

Warm weather with storms are possible this weekend, leading into a Fourth of July that will have hot temperatures and dry weather during the day before leading to another chance of showers overnight. 

According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

If you're planning to watch fireworks this weekend along the Ohio River, be aware:  weather service radar in Wilmington showed the emergence of a lot of bugs, including Mayflies, along the river Thursday, a sign of summer.

Mayflies hatch in huge numbers, so large that they are sometimes picked up by the weather radar

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 92 and a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Tonight, mostly cloudy with a low around 70 and a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 89 and a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Saturday night, mostly cloudy with a low around 68. A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then a chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 a.m.
