NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – One person was killed Friday morning in a wrong-way crash along Highway 31 in North Myrtle Beach, police said.

North Myrtle Beach police and fire crews were called just before 5 a.m. to the deadly crash at Robert Edge Parkway.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the wreck, and initial reports indicate that one of the vehicles was heading south in the northbound lanes on Highway 31.

The crash forced crews to shut down all northbound lanes on Highway 31 while they investigated.

They said one person died and four others were taken to the hospital.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy later identified the person who died as 23-year-old Kamiyah Belvin, of Henderson, North Carolina.

The North Myrtle Beach Police Department is investigating the crash.
