STARK COUNTY, Ohio — A 68-year-old Minerva man has died and two others were hurt following a crash Thursday afternoon in Stark County.

The crash happened around 5:59 p.m. on US 30 near milepost 6 in Osnaburg Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Authorities say the initial investigation revealed the driver of a 2021 Dodge Charger “traveled left of center while attempting to pass traffic in a no-passing zone” and struck a 1999 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck head-on.

Here are the reported injuries as a result of the crash:

  • The driver of the pickup truck – Thomas K. Miller – was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Driver of the Charger, a 25-year-old man from Massillon, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
  • Passenger in the Charger, a 22-year-old woman from Mogadore, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A 2018 Toyota 4Runner that was behind the pickup truck was also involved in the crash, but authorities say the driver was not hurt and the vehicle sustained minor damage.

Osnaburg Fire and EMS, Ohio Department of Transportation and Canton Towing were on scene to assist.

The crash remains under investigation.
