2 injured, 1 killed in shooting in Hazelwood; deceased man identified

PITTSBURGH — One person is dead and two others are injured after a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Hazelwood neighborhood early Friday.

It happened around 12:40 a.m. on Johnston Avenue.

Police said when they arrived, there were two people who were shot in the 100 block.

Police said one of the victims died from their injuries.

One of the victims was taken to a hospital by medics in critical condition. The second victim was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle.

Allegheny County medical examiners have identified the deceased victim 18-year-old Darrian Davis from West Homestead.

A third victim also arrived at a hospital around 6 a.m. from a graze wound, according to police.

Witnesses told officers the shots were fired from a dark-colored car.

Pittsburgh police continue to investigate.
