Shielda Joy Jeffery

Shielda Joy Jeffery, 88, died at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City, on June 11, 2022, after a brief illness.

She was born in Abilene on October 29, 1933, and remained a Kansas native, calling Scott City home for the last 64 years.

She was a caring, considerate, and generous family member and friend. Shielda invested a lot of time into letter writing, card mailing, memory keeping, and phone conversations. She had a giving heart, always looking for ways to help those around her.

In 1999, Shielda retired from Scott Pro after 25 years of service. She lived out her retirement in the community she loved and raised her three boys in.

Shielda is survived by three sons, Stan Lacey and wife, Lisa, Rio Vista, Calif., Craig Lacey and wife, Connie, Sterling, and Malcolm Lacey and wife, Rosa, Redondo Beach, Calif; one sister, Jean Elmquist and husband, Jerry, Sacramento, Calif; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Evadena Madden, and brother, Glenn Madden, Jr.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Sat., July 16, 10:00 a.m., at the Scott County Cemetery with Steve Payne presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be written to Park Lane Nursing Home.

There will be no calling times.
