IMPD: 15-year-old injured in near east side shooting

Police were called to the 2900 block of East New York Street around 1:30 a.m. Friday on a report of a person shot.

INDIANAPOLIS — An investigation is underway after a 15-year-old was injured early Friday in a shooting on Indianapolis' near east side.

Police responded to a report of a person shot in the 2900 block of East New York Street, near North Rural Street, around 1:30 a.m.

IMPD found a 15-year-old male outside who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police haven't shared additional details, including whether they have a suspect or if a motive is known.
