The dunk tank will once again be a feature at the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department’s carnival, and several well-known area folks have volunteered to take their turn in the cage.
NEW CREEK, W.Va. (WV News) — Carnival time is coming to New Creek.
The New Creek Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual community carnival Thursday through Saturday, July 14-16, at the grounds next to the fire hall.
Gates will open at 6 p.m. and close at 10 p.m. each night.
The carnival will feature bingo, games, kiddie rides and more for the family, as well as a variety of taste-tempting food.
Returning by popular demand will be the dunk tank, with several community icons slated to take their turn in the cage.
The schedule as of June 26 as posted on the NCVFD Facebook page is as follows:
Thursday:
6-7 p.m.: Richie Ohaver
7-8 p.m.: Michael Newcomb
8-9 p.m.: Luke Hoover
9-10 p.m.: Jake Everline
Friday:
6-7 p.m.: Gary Howell
7-8 p.m.: Rick Hillenbrand
8-9 p.m.: Jerry Hughes
9-10 p.m.: open
Saturday:
6-7 p.m.: open
7-8 p.m.: Keith Beckman
8-9 p.m.: Keith Beckman
9-10 p.m.: open
The parade is set for Friday, with lineup at 5 p.m. at in the parking lot at Rees Chapel. The parade will move at 6 p.m. and disband at the fire hall.
Anyone interested in participating in the parade is asked to call 304-788-4041 to sign up.
All emergency departments, businesses, community groups, churches, etc., are invited to participate.
A corn hole tournament will be the feature on Saturday, with registration at 6 p.m. and the tournament at 7 p.m. Entry fee is $10 and participants should bring their own partner. The winner will receive a 50-50 payout.
Admission to the carnival is free; there is a small charge for the rides and games.
