Faith Victoria Kemp, 20, of Falkville, was arrested on May 16 on an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The arrest came three days after Kemp delivered a stillborn child in her 38th week of pregnancy and the Morgan County Department of Human Resources contacted the sheriff’s office, AL.com reported.

Kemp was charged Wednesday with chemical endangerment of a child-homicide, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators believe Kemp used meth throughout her pregnancy, possibly contributing to the death of the infant, WAFF-TV reported. An autopsy of the infant was performed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, according to the television station.

Kemp was still in the Morgan County Jail from her previous arrest, the sheriff’s office said. Her bail has been set at $200,000.
