Children were on the scene of Town Creek murder-suicide

TOWN CREEK, Ala. (WAFF) - The names of the two people who died in a Town Creek murder-suicide have been released.

Lawrence County Coroner Scott Norwood said Daricus Yarbrough shot Sheneaka Davis around 6:40 Thursday night in Town Creek.

Yarbrough then took his own life.

According to the Town Creek Police Department, there were children on the scene of the killing but they escaped safely.

Both bodies have been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensics for autopsies.

The incident happened on Bradley Street.

Court documents show that Yarbrough was previously charged with second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer. On March 28, Yarbrough got into a fight with the Town Creek Police Chief that caused bruising, difficulty breathing and soreness in the Chief’s chest.
