2 men sought for questioning in connection with Grasmere jewelry snatch from woman, 81

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help to identify individuals sought for questioning in connection with an alleged grand larceny in Grasmere.

On June 26, at 2 p.m., in front of 2014 Clove Road, unknown individuals approached a 81-year-old female victim waiting at a bus stop, according to a written statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

The victim was approached by suspects in a white Jeep Cherokee. They engaged the victim in conversation to draw her closer to their vehicle. Once she was close they removed jewelry from her and fled the scene in their vehicle.

The NYPD released surveillance photos of the individuals sought for questioning in the incident, and the white Jeep Cherokee.
