Two convenience stores are held up at gunpoint in Baltimore, and now two men are on the run.
ROBERT TAYLOR
December 13, 2021.
In the heart of Hampden, one of Baltimore's most popular neighborhoods, a man walks into the Royal Farms on 36th street with a gun.
"He entered the store, walked towards the register and pulled out a handgun and demanded money," said Tony Gause, Senior Inspector with the US Marshals Service.
Investigators have identified the suspect as Robert Taylor, 53, of Baltimore.
The US Marshals Service has now joined the search for Taylor and shared surveillance pictures from the armed robbery.
According to investigators, Taylor is seen walking into the store and placing a gun on the counter where he then demanded money from the teller.
"The teller gave him everything that was in the register, which was $90," said Gause.
Gause detailed investigators believe drugs was the motive.
"Taylor has a criminal history of narcotics possessions, a few assaults and minor thefts," said Gause. "Over the course of time they have no way to fuel that addiction. To supply the funds to get that next narcotic or any kind of drug they’re addicted to."
"Do you believe Taylor is still in Baltimore?" questioned Maryland's Most Wanted Alexa Ashwell.
"Yes. Taylor doesn’t have many resources," said Gause.
What investigators say Taylor does likely still have is the gun they say he used in the armed robbery.
This time no one was hurt, but authorities fear next time the victim may not be so lucky.
Taylor is described as standing at about 5’11” and weighing approximately 210 lbs with a distinct tribal tattoo on his shoulder.
CLINTON SHELL JR.
December 19, 2021.
Baltimore's Northwood neighborhood.
Aman walks into a 7-Eleven near the Alameda, where investigators say he suddenly turns from customer to armed suspect.
"He walked in, produced a firearm and demanded money from the teller," said Shell.
The US Marshals Service has identified the man as Clinton Shell Jr., 43, of Baltimore.
Investigators detailing Shell pointed the gun at the teller and then muttered his demand.
"Don’t move. Give me everything that’s in the register," recited Gause.
Shell runs off with the cash.
Meanwhile police arrive and interview the store clerk.
Then, later that day a break in the case.
Investigators say someone contacted the Baltimore Police Department and reported to the officer it was Shell who in fact robbed the store.
In court records detectives detail surveillance video captured during the robbery showed the suspect had the same distinctive tattoos Shell does on his hand.
"The one that stands out most is on his right hand. There’s a pyramid with skulls on it and the letter DTID. The meaning behind that tattoo is still unknown." said Gause.
Investigators say Shell was already wanted by authorities.
Court records confirm a warrant was issued for his arrest for an assault three months before committing the armed robbery.
"Do you believe he’s still in Baltimore?" questioned Maryland's Most Wanted Alexa Ashwell.
"Yes. Like the other case Shell has few resources," said Gause.
Gause is described as standing at about 5'8" and standing at approximately 180 lbs.
Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of these two individuals can report it anonymously the US Marshals Tip line at 1-877-WANTED-2 or contact SI Gause directly at 202-427-0183.
