MACON, Ga. (WGXA) -- The Fourth of July is just on the other side of the weekend, but you may not have to wait that long to celebrate.
There are several community-hosted celebrations throughout the Midstate and we want to let you know what's happening and where.
- The City of Centerville is holding its Annual Independence Day Celebration at Center Park. Parking and admission are free. The event starts at 6:00 and will feature a DJ, live music, and an illusionist all will perform, leading up to the fireworks finale.
- The City of Warner Robins is having its annual bash on Saturday evening, beginning at 5:00. The event will feature a DJ, live music, and a fireworks display and it's all taking place at McConnell-Talbert Stadium.
- The City of Milledgeville's annual celebration is back after a two-year COVID-induced hiatus. The fireworks display will begin just after dark on the CGTC campus on Saturday night.
- The Soul and R&B Freedom Fest will be happening at the Cary W. Martin Conference Center in Warner Robins. Tickets start at $25 but parking is free. This "excellent night of entertainment" starts at 8:00 on Sunday night.
- The VFW Post on Harrison Rd. will be hosting a community event on Monday evening, The 4th of July, starting at 6:00 and ending at 9:00, following a fireworks display over the lake.
- Lake Tobesofkee is hosting its 26th Annual Sparks Over the Park Independence Day Celebration all day on Monday. The gates to the parks open at 9:00 A.M. for swimming, boating, disc golf and more and will close at 8:00.
The Travis Bryant Band will perform Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 at the Sandy Beach Park Pavillion, followed by fireworks at 9:15. Admission is $3 and children under six are free. No alcohol or glass containers allowed.
